In the late 1800s, Congressman John Gardner purchased land near Edgepillock Lake in what is now Shamong Township, New Jersey. The Congressman and former mayor of Atlantic City carved out a farming operation in the Pines that the Gardner family continues to work to this day.

Fast forward to the 1970s, and the Gardner family began growing turf for local landscapers who were part of the housing boom in the Medford and Marlton areas. As demand grew, Tuckerton Turf committed more of the family’s acreage to providing quality turf grass.

Tuckerton Turf quickly became a leader in providing quality turf grass to prominent clients, including Universities, High Schools,  and Township Athletic Associations.

While Tuckerton Turf has developed a reputation for its ability to meet and exceed the needs of its athletic customers, the company remains committed to maintaining its relationships with its first customers — the landscapers and homeowners seeking to create a front-yard masterpiece or backyard oasis.
